The Smart Grid Innovation Network (SGIN), in association with Ignite Fredericton, will present an Energy Innovations Forum, to showcase opportunities in the coming energy revolution. With New Brunswick laying the foundation for smart grid and smart city leadership on a global scale, this forum will explore opportunities through the evolution and convergence of technology and energy.
Day one will focus on the evolution of smart energy technologies, and will include expert insights on innovations in solar, smart home, electric vehicle charging, and microgrid technologies. Additional content will include global smart grid and smart city initiatives, as well as content on “the customer of the future” to better understand the role technology will play in creating a more informed, engaged and active consumers and citizens.
Day two will focus on the developments, challenges and evolving smart energy business opportunities relevant to New Brunswick and Atlantic Canada. This day will feature smart utility and smart city discussions driven by utilities and municipalities. Dialogue about a regional vision for energy innovation will also take place. The day will include a tour of the NB Power Product & Service Lab (a joint initiative with SGIN) to test vendor technology prior to customer adoption.
